CD40LG and infection: The stage of infection was justified by the detection of IgM (BorIgM+, earlier stage), IgG (BorIgG+, later stage), and both IgM and IgG antibodies (BorIgG&M+, re-infection or intermediate stage) against B. burgdorferi s.l., and it seemed to slightly differentiate the hematological profile of the animal groups: PLT and WBC counts were not affected during the earlier and later stages of infection, respectively, and increased neutrophil counts were recorded only at the later stage.
