These findings are supported by the results of other authors who observed a decrease in Akt and Erk1/2 levels in human bladder cancer cells (T24) after treatment with Au–Ag nanoparticles [135], activation of the p38 stress kinase in A549 cells (human lung cancer) induced by the generation of ROS with subsequent activation of caspase-3 [136], and an increase in the phosphorylation of JNK with upregulation of its direct downstream target c-Jun in various tumor cells (MDA-MB-231, MCF-7, U251, and MO59K). The gene discussed is CASP3; the disease is neoplasm.
