Lymphovascular invasion and necrosis in the primary tumor were marginally associated with higher S100A8/A9 values in the non-metastatic regional lymph nodes (6.765 ± 6.21 vs. 4.018 ± 5.176, p = 0.0726 and 7.5 ± 6.816 vs. 4.136 ± 5.138 p = 0.0549, respectively) with no other significant associations. This evidence concerns the gene S100A8 and neoplasm.
