PARP-1 showed mostly moderate and moderate to high expression levels in the tumor nuclei, but it appears less suitable as an imaging target compared to uPAR, αvβ6, and tissue factor, owing to the non-specific staining of several different cell-types in the lamina propria and submucosa as well as the staining of normal squamous epithelium. This evidence concerns the gene PARP1 and neoplasm.
