By contrast, the ischemia + hypothermia 48 h group showed significantly higher densities of GAD+ (p = 0.0003; Figure 3A) and parvalbumin+ (p = 0.0006; Figure 3B) interneurons, but not calbindin+ (p = 0.8831; Figure 3C) interneurons, compared with cell densities in the ischemia + normothermia group.
