Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), in particular anti-programmed death 1 (PD-1)/programmed death 1 ligand 1 (PD-L1) antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, atezolizumab, or cemiplimab, are now widely used in the first-line treatment of metastatic/advanced-stage non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) alone or in combination with platinum-doublet chemotherapy (CT).
