In contrast, Sabbatinelli, et al. [66] in a sample of 29 COVID-19 patients under treatment of Tocilizumab, a monoclonal antibody against interleukin-6 (IL-6) receptor, reported a significant decrease in miR-21-5p expression levels between patients and healthy controls, plus, a tendency for upregulation was observed when comparing basal time and 72 h after TCZ administration; notably, a significant correlation was found between miR-21-5p and IL-6 and D-dimer levels. Here, IL6 is linked to COVID-19.
