An interesting finding is that across all studies, the miR-320 family (miR-320a-3p, -320b, -320c, -320d, -320e) was upregulated in COVID-19 patients, and a recent study found that this family is positively correlated with the IL-6/STAT3 axis, causing exacerbated cardiac fibrosis caused by an elevated synthesis of IL-6, p-STAT3 and TGF-β [101]. The gene discussed is TGFB1; the disease is COVID-19.
