Among the sixteen quality markers selected, three erythrocyte-specific proteins (CAH, CAH2 and PRDX2), five platelet-specific proteins (VINC, FLNA, MYH9, TPM4, TLN1) and ALBU were increased by at least 10% in the MGS2 group (Figure 3a), confirming the increased likelihood of blood contamination in AMD samples. This evidence concerns the gene TLN1 and age-related macular degeneration.
