Consistently, activated and phosphorylated c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) and extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase (ERK1/2), which are primary stress kinases that play a fundamental role in the development of steatosis and are important players in inducing inflammation [26,27], were also found to be downregulated upon Tecomella undulata treatment (Figure 7C,D). The gene discussed is MAPK8; the disease is steatosis.
