The enhanced protein levels of both YWHAE and YWHAZ in the brown adipose tissue, muscle, and/or liver, but not other tissues, of Sod1−/− mice reinforce that the opposite correlations between SOD1 and YWHAE (+) vs. YWHAZ (−) in the progression of the human breast cancer represented a specific interdependence or interaction of these proteins. The gene discussed is SOD1; the disease is breast carcinoma.
