The HKSA-treated mice exhibited a significantly reduced number of OCN+ cells (21.22 ± 2.69/mm vs. 14.1 ± 0.68/mm, p < 0.05) (Figure 1I,J), while no significant change in the number of TRAP+ cells (Figure 1K,L) was observed on the surface of trabecular bone, which suggested that the change in osteogenic activity mainly contributed to osteoporosis caused by HKSA.
