PARP-1 expression was found to be elevated in prostate adenocarcinoma compared to normal prostate tissue (normal vs. Gleason score ≤ 6: p = 0.0011; normal vs. Gleason score 7: p < 0.0001; normal vs. Gleason score 8–10: p = <0.0001) and prostatic hyperplasia (hyperplasia vs. Gleason score ≤ 6: p = 0.0152; hyperplasia vs. Gleason score 7: p = 0.0016; hyperplasia vs. Gleason score 8–10: p ≤ 0.0001) (Figure 1A,B). This evidence concerns the gene PARP1 and prostate adenocarcinoma.
