Given that a decreased expression of MUC5B is associated with a less malignant phenotype in several cancers and that estrogens down-regulate MUC5B expression in ABC DLBCL, it is not unlikely that estrogens by reducing MUC5B expression contribute (with or without an increase in NR4A expression) to a reduction in ABC DLBCL progression. This evidence concerns the gene MUC5B and aneurysmal bone cyst.
