Additionally, the N308K/A313S variant of SIRT6 has been shown to exert a stronger suppression of LINE1 retrotransposons, better function in DNA double-strand break repair, and higher killing of cancer cells (HT1080 fibrosarcoma cell line and Hela cervical cancer cell line) but not normal cells than the common SIRT6 variant [66].
