In this regard, it has been reported that repeated oral administrations of clozapine, but not haloperidol, in the dominant-negative form of disrupted-in-schizophrenia 1 (DN-DISC1) transgenic mice treated with polyinosinic:polycytidylic acid (polyI:C), were able to improve cognitive impairment in the animal model. This evidence concerns the gene DISC1 and Cognitive impairment.
