Finally, utilizing products determined with denaturing high-performance liquid chromatography and analyzed by polymerase chain reaction, it was demonstrated that the allele frequency of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in a DNA pool of 368 schizophrenia patients and 368 HC, Homer1-IVS4+18A>G (statistically significant with individual genotyping, p = 0.01) were associated with schizophrenia, identifying a plausible candidate for the phenotype of the disease [281].
