Genes encoding cellular adhesion molecules (NLGN4Y), cellular exocytosis (TXLNGY), associated with the induction of IFN-α (DDX3Y), cellular apoptosis (EF1AY), and prevention of protein degradation (USP9Y) are shown to be expressed in agreement with the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis. The gene discussed is USP9Y; the disease is atherosclerosis.
