TLR4 and cancer: Tumor-promoting inflammation is one of the hallmarks of cancer and palmitic acid is known to induce pro-inflammatory NLR family pyrin domain containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome activation, nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) and toll like receptor 4 (TLR4) dependent signaling [39,41,42,45], which can mediate pro-carcinogenic effects.
