To this purpose, we treated murine primary astrocytes with Aβ1-42 fibrils, or with DMSO-HCl as a control, and we assessed the induction of IL-1β cytokine, one of the most crucial pro-inflammatory cytokines in AD [41,42,43,44]; of clusterin, a stress-related protein [45]; and the generation of ROS. This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and Alzheimer disease.
