These findings were confirmed by qPCR analysis (Figure 4b) where the nrf2 mRNA levels in cells treated with BPHs at 1 and 1.5 mg/mL were 1.4 times higher than the H2O2 group, while cells treated with 0.5 mg/mL BPHs were 0.8 times higher than the H2O2 group; no statistical differences were found between the 0.1 mg/mL BPH and H2O2 treatments, showing a dose-dependent gene expression trend. The gene discussed is NFE2L2; the disease is benign prostatic hyperplasia.
