The randomised controlled trial reported by Moazen et al. [45] supplemented CoQ10 (200 mg/day for 2 months) in 52 type II diabetic patients, and found no significant reduction in the levels of fasting blood glucose, glycated haemoglobin or the inflammatory marker adiponectin, although the level of the oxidative stress marker malondialdehyde was significantly reduced. Here, ADIPOQ is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
