In line with our hypothesis, we observed that the neuronal damage following AD201 inhibition was significantly reduced in AD-Neuro cells, which was corroborated by a notable increase in the expression of functional cholinergic neuronal markers, such as ChAT and α7nAChR along with a lowered BACE1 expression (Figure 7a(ii)). The gene discussed is CHRNA7; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
