Studies identified that when IgM antibodies produced against DENV can cross-react with EC, platelets, and plasmin to result in a cycle of amplification for higher vascular permeability and coagulopathy, the improved IgG antibodies bind heterologous viruses during secondary infection of different serotypes and improved antigen-presenting cells (APCs) infection to contribute to the highest viral load viremia in some patients during secondary infection. The gene discussed is PLG; the disease is infection.
