Currently, several studies had suggested that serum albumin level <3.5g/dL was an independent risk factor for prolonged LOS [16, 17, 19], Clinicians are more inclined to treat moderate and severe hypoalbuminemia, but albumin levels are divided into normal albumin levels (≥3.5g/dl), mild hypoalbuminemia (3.0g/dl-3.5g/dl), moderate hypoalbuminemia (2.5g/dl-3.0g/dl) and severe hypoalbuminemia (<2.5g/dl). This evidence concerns the gene ALB and Hypoalbuminemia.
