MYC and cancer: Because the focus of our research is to study genes associated with cancer from an evolutionary perspective, we used various methods of DNA transfection to be able to deliver the cDNA coding for sponge and human protein homologs MYC, RRAS2, and DRG1, which are known to be localized to specific compartments (the nucleus, membranes, or cytosol, respectively) and associated with cancer.
