By measuring the intensity of peripheral and intracellular CD47, the ratio of CD47 on the plasma membrane to that in the cytoplasm (PM/intracellular CD47 ratio) was elevated in both A549 and H1299 lung cancer cells in comparison to HBE normal epithelial cells (Fig. 4b), suggesting that cancer cells favor to preserve the membrane localization of CD47. The gene discussed is CD47; the disease is lung carcinoma.
