Quite a few studies have investigated the role of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) as prognostic tumor biomarkers in CRC patients [10,11]. High levels are usually associated with significant tumor burden due to the invasiveness and chemotherapy resistance in several malignancies, including CRC [12]. A recent study has employed the LDH-to-albumin ratio as a prognostic biomarker in CRC patients, which was associated with poor prognosis in CRC patients [13].
