HK2 and rheumatoid arthritis: A study including 65 RA patients showed that hexokinase-2 (HK2) mRNA levels in PBMCs were positively associated with Clinical Disease Activity Index (CDAI), DAS28-ESR, and Simplified Disease Activity Index (SDAI) scores, independently correlated with increased disease activity risk, and may be involved in the molecular mechanisms of RA, and that HK2 could be a prospective candidate marker for RA diagnosis (RA vs. HCs, AUC = 0.808; RA vs. OA, AUC = 0.655) (67).
