Second, this study highlighted that patients with nccRCC who had received VEGF-targeted therapy had shorter median progression-free survival (PFS) than patients with ccRCC (6.1 vs. 8.5 months; HR, 1.49; P < 0.001), but median PFS was similar when treated with mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibitors (4.3 vs. 4.4 months; HR, 0.92; P = 0.63) (2).
