CD36 and prediabetes syndrome: CD36 is an 88 kDa transmembrane glycoproteinthat is interpreted as a biomarker for atherosclerosis, prediabetes, and type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM).2 Itwas reported that the serum concentration of CD36 is considerablycorrelated with atherosclerosis and insulin resistance, DM, and fattyliver markers and its serum concentration should be lesser than 25.3ng/mL in nondiabetic plasma.3,4 Currently, there isno electrochemical sensor system used for the detection of CD36 inthe clinical field commercially.
