Among our patients, the odds of having anemia were 2.2 times higher than the odds of having normal hemoglobin levels for those having a positive anti-HCV antibody status (P = 0.013), whereas when stratified based on the age group, the odds of having anemia were 1.93 times higher than the odds of having normal serum Hb levels, for patients aged between 18 and 44 years (P = 0.031), as reflected in Table 5.
