Subsequent immune checkpoint analysis revealed that the high risk group had increased expression of CD44, a stemness marker of non-small cell lung cancer, and activation of CD44 related pathways promoted squamous cell lung cancer resistance to FGFR1 inhibition (Elakad et al., 2022; Panda and Biswal, 2022). This evidence concerns the gene FGFR1 and squamous cell lung carcinoma.
