6 The upregulation of telomerase in pancreatic cancer cells could support its resistance to etoposide treatment,7 and VEGF‐C overexpression is modulated by circNFIB1 to support the metastasis of PAAD cells8. On the other hand, tumour suppressor genes represent important barriers for tumorigenesis and cancer progression, which are frequently mutated or down‐regulated in cancer cells9, 10. Functional restoration of tumour suppressor genes are also attractive strategies to curb the progression of cancer.10 The gene discussed is VEGFC; the disease is cancer.
