NFKB1 and Hyperglycemia: On one hand, hyperglycaemia activates nuclear factor‐κB (NF‐κB) and mitogen‐activated protein kinases (MAPKs), which are crucial regulators of pro‐inflammatory signalling pathways, resulting in the release of chemokines and inflammatory cytokines, such as monocyte chemoattractant protein (MCP)‐1, tumour necrosis factor (TNF)‐α, interleukin (IL)‐6 and IL‐1β, in the hearts of diabetic mice.
