Overexpression of FTO has been found in a set of tumors, such as glioblastoma (GBM), melanoma, breast cancer (BC) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML), highlighting the m6A-dependent oncogenic role of FTO, as well as the tight relationship between impaired FTO expression and short survival time in the cancer context [31–34]. This evidence concerns the gene FTO and melanoma.
