Seven of the ten factors (SBDS, GNL3, DDX54, WDR18, EIF6, MAK16, and FTSJ3) selected for follow-up were annotated in the STRING database to be 60S ribosome biogenesis factors, and therefore, the loss of each one may have contributed to impairment of viral infection via a common 60S subunit-based pathway. Here, EIF6 is linked to viral infectious disease.
