CASP6 and Alzheimer disease: The functional importance of two different proteolytic degradation for lamin by caspase-6 and cathepsin L is not clear; however, we proposed that caspase-6 might be an early player in induction of NL invagination following Trx1 depletion, while cathepsin L activation occurs in later stages of cell death in AD after induction of lysosomal permeability.
