We observed fewer TRA98-positive cells in the testes of stat1−/− mice than in WT or stat1−/−clec5a−/− mice (2.5% vs. 4.4% and 4.9%, respectively; Fig. 3c), suggesting that CLEC5A negatively affects spermatogenesis under ZIKV infection. This evidence concerns the gene CLEC5A and Zika virus infectious disease.
