Importantly, those in the stat1−/−clec5a−/− mice were lower than those in the stat1−/− mice (Fig. 1d), suggesting that the loss of CLEC5A attenuates ZIKV infection in the testicular tissues and that CLEC5A may play a role in testicular injury during ZIKV infection.
