Compared with the control, XBP1 inhibition in Xbp1+/− mice reduced IR-induced kidney damage and histological scores (0.95 ± 0.21 vs. 3.75 ± 0.35, P < 0.01, Fig. 6H), and serum creatinine (191.70 ± 5.04 vs. 97.33 ± 10.17, P < 0.01) and blood urea nitrogen levels (68.27 ± 0.64 vs. 47.86 ± 0.64, P < 0.0001) (Fig. 6I).
