Fig 1J shows the expression of Obesity-associated genes in the skin of 8-month-old animals relative to 2-month-old counterparts. 8-month-old chow animals overexpressed Thrb (207-fold), Ntsr1 (20-fold), and Apoa4 (16-fold), the HFD animals overexpressed Oprm1 (182-fold), Lep (48-fold), and Adipoq (25-fold), and the HFD DM+ overexpressed Adipoq (28-fold), Ucp1 (15-fold), and Lep (13-fold). This evidence concerns the gene NTSR1 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
