Psd95 is likely upregulated in neuropathic tissues to compensate for the loss of pre‐synaptic nerves and terminals, and this compensation eventually wanes (Figure 4d), or it is shed as a biomarker of peripheral neuropathy, as is seen in other neurodegenerative states like Alzheimer's disease (Kivisäkk et al., 2021). Here, DLG4 is linked to peripheral neuropathy.
