These associations also remained significant after further adjustment for liver cirrhosis, COPD, congestive heart failure, prothrombin time, procalcitonin, and lactate (model 3) (Group 4 [HR: 2.90, 95% CI: 1.95–4.32, P < 0.001], Group 3 [HR: 2.11, 95% CI: 1.39–3.21, P < 0.001], and Group 2 [HR: 1.52, 95% CI: 1.01–2.30, P = 0.046] compared with Group 1). This evidence concerns the gene F2 and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
