PRPH2 and glaucoma: According to transcriptomics data from the Human Protein Atlas Version 20.1 (see refs. 33,34), PRPH2, mainly expressed in the retina, showed a positive association with glaucoma risk (odds ratio = 1.11, P = 1.8 × 10−2), which indicated that pQTL in plasma may contain the information on the role of proteins expressed in specific tissues in the development of disease.
