Recent studies have demonstrated that FAM83A is significantly upregulated in a variety of cancers and is presumed to be a novel oncogene partly through activating the PI3K/AKT and Wnt signaling cascade pathway.10–15 However, the detailed mechanisms of FAM83A in cancer, especially in pancreatic cancer, remain extremely unclear. The gene discussed is SACK1A; the disease is familial pancreatic carcinoma.
