Family with sequence similarity 83 member A (FAM83A) was originally identified as BJ-TSA-9, which is highly expressed in lung cancer, without known function(s).8 FAM83A is a 434-amino-acid protein and contains DUF1669, serine-rich domains, and proline-rich domains (PRDs).9 A previous study has reported that FAM83A is overexpressed in multiple human tumors, such as lung, cervix, liver, and pancreatic cancer,10–13 suggesting a tumorigenesis role of FAM83A during cancer development and progression. Here, SACK1A is linked to pancreatic neoplasm.
