Our results showed that miR‐221 inhibited the activation of Bax/caspase‐3 signaling by restricting Bim, one of the newly identified proapoptotic members of the Bcl‐2 protein family (Cosialls et al., 2020), thereby reducing the apoptosis of dopaminergic neurons and contributing to the alleviation of PD. This evidence concerns the gene BCL2L11 and Parkinson disease.
