EVA1A and cardiovascular disorder: Different –omics approaches have been used to identify differentially expressed molecules at sites of lesion protection and predilection, as they may provide crucial insights into the mechanisms of cardiovascular disease development.5,45,46 One such shear-responsive molecule is EVA1A, which our previous transcriptomic analysis identified as a gene upregulated in the athero-prone region in the porcine aortic arch.32 In the present study, we further demonstrate that EVA1A is upregulated at mRNA and protein level by proatherogenic DF in pig and mouse aortas, as well as human ECs.
