Cytokine producing role of nearly all immune cells is known; however, FcR-expressing monocytes/macrophages are the primary sources of the proinflammatory/inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, including mainly TNF, IL-1, IL-6, IL-8, and IL-12 causing histopathological injuries in target tissues, autoantigen expressions, and autoantibody production in MG and other autoimmune diseases (38, 52). Here, TNF is linked to myasthenia gravis.
