In the PCOS population, there are well-known significantly increased levels of ICAM-1 [6, 7], MCP-1 [36, 37], TNF-α [13, 14] and PAI-1 [17, 18] compared to the control group, which represents the early signs of macrovascular problems in these women. This evidence concerns the gene CCL2 and polycystic ovary syndrome.
