Table 3 shows the sociodemographic characteristics and laboratory parameters of the children who were positive for hepatitis B; 1 (50%) of them was vaccinated, and had a mother who was positive for hepatitis B. Furthermore, the child was positive for HBe Ag and negative for Anti-HBS antibody. The parents of the unvaccinated HbsAg positive child refused further testing. There was no statistically significant relationship between the hepatitis B status of the children and the sociodemographic parameters as shown in Table 4. Here, HBE1 is linked to hepatitis B virus infection.
