GLUT1, as a target gene of HIF-1, is involved in the regulation of glucose metabolism together with LDHA and MCT-4, and some studies have found that even in the presence of GLUT1 inhibitors (such as WZB117), if platelet-derived growth factor is stimulated, it increases glycolysis, intracellular lactate content and other acidic metabolites in colon cancer cells and promotes tumor progression (Table 1) (165, 166).
