For all the included studies, clinically diagnosed pneumonia with nasopharyngeal swab positive for adenovirus nucleic acid, serum adenovirus-specific IgM antibody positive, or detected adenovirus nucleic acid sequences in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and metagenomics next generation sequencing (mNGS) in severity cases were all considered as the confirmation of the diagnosis of ADVP.
